An antique, Victorian era, cigar band wedding ring, modeled in 14k rose gold. This wide band ring has a charming octagonal surface, composed of square panels, and each of these panels is decorated with beautiful, hand-engraved decor. This decor is an alternating pattern of deeply-carved oak leaves and orange blossoms, each resting atop a more subtle, four-lobed, clover-shaped engraving. Orange blossoms have long symbolized fertility and purity, while oak leaves stand for strength, faith and virtue— to the Victorians the meaning behind these symbols would have been important and carefully considered. A softly-domed panel sits at the center of the ring face— this panel is engraved with a dotted festoon border and four rays.Probablyit wasintended to hold an (optional) small diamond. This ring is in outstanding crisp condition. It would make a wonderful, unique wedding band. Marked 14k for purity.
